The main products of Hastelloy B-3 include plate, strip, pipe, bar, wire, forging, etc. Alloy B-3 is widely used in the fields of chemistry, petrochemical, energy manufacturing and pollution control, especially in sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, acetic acid and other industries, and its performance is better than Hastelloy B-2.
Product Features
● Alloy B-3 is a face centered cubic lattice structure. The iron and chromium contents of this alloy are controlled to the minimum, which prevents it from precipitating ni4mo phase at 700-800 ℃, thus reducing the risk of processing embrittlement and better bending or circling.

FAQ
Limiting Factors of Hastelloy B-3
Alloy B-3 has poor corrosion resistance to oxidizing environments, therefore, it is not recommended for use in oxidizing media or in the presence of ferric or cupric salts because they may cause rapid premature corrosion failure. These salts may develop when hydrochloric acid comes in contact with iron and copper. Therefore, if this nickel steel alloy is used in conjunction with iron or copper piping in a system containing hydrochloric acid, the presence of these salts could cause the alloy to fail prematurely.
In what application is Hastelloy Alloy B-3?
Alloy B-3 can be used for all purposes of alloy B-2. Like Alloy B-2, B-3 is not recommended to be used in the environment where trivalent iron salt and divalent copper salt exist, because these salts will soon cause corrosion damage. When hydrochloric acid comes into contact with iron and copper, it will react with it to form trivalent iron salt and divalent copper salt.
